TATATM has an extensive range of items all under cover. There is a large building that displays many farming items that were in common use in the early 1900's. In a separate building there is an operating print shop with a variety of linotype machines and various printing machines. The electrical and communication section has many early sound reproduction facilities from early gramophone, early television sets and items like ex radio stations that no longer exist. A variety of telephone systems are functional to show the techniques used as the telephone system developed. A section of the museum is dedicated to the items found in the Post Office. TATATM is fortunate in that we have the model of the Motunui Gas to Gasoline plant that was in use during the 1980's - one of the Think Big NZ projects. The development of the typewriter and computer, many models that have fallen by the wayside as development occurred. A wide variety of hand tools used by trade’s people some 50 to 60 years ago are on display. We have two fire engines one being the ex Two other buildings house a range of items that would be found in households before the World War II and various items of the professional business person, optician, photographer, butcher, boot maker, dentist and hairdresser etc. TATATM is open every weekend Saturday and Sunday, all school holidays and public holidays. If notified a day or so in advance a member of the museum will be able to open at any other time.
