Parking on match days
Park in New Plymouth’s CBD and take a shuttle bus to Stadium Taranaki.
On match days only, all public car parks in the CBD will be free from 5.00pm, including Centre City’s car park. On Sunday 11 September parking is free all day.
Car parks will remain unlocked for 24 hours, although Centre City will be locked at midnight on match days.
If you’re driving to the stadium, free parking is available at Sanders Park to cars with three or more passengers from two hours before kick-off.
Accessibility parking
Accessibility parking at the Stadium is available via the stadium’s Gates 2 and 4. A parking pass from NPDC must be displayed – contact us on 06-759 6060 or enquiries@npdc.govt.nz.
Road closures
Various roads in the CBD and around the stadium will be closed during RWC 2011.
The following roads will be closed in and around Stadium Taranaki on match days:
- Maratahu Street from Tukapa Street to Frankley Road from noon to 11.00pm.
- Waterloo Place from noon to 11.00pm.
- Tukapa Street from the Sanders Avenue roundabout to Wallace Place from the matches' half-time to one hour after games’ end.
- Cutfield Road from Tukapa Street to Wallace Place from the matches’ half-time to one hour after games’ end.
There will also be temporary traffic controls for shuttle buses transporting spectators to and from Rugby World Cup 2011 matches at Stadium Taranaki and other activities in the CBD. Dates of CBD road closures:
- Sunday 11 September from 3pm to 11pm.
- Thursday 15 September from 3pm to 11pm.
- Monday 26 September from 3pm to 11pm.
Streets affected during thtimes:
- Ariki Street closed to all vehicle traffic from lower Brougham Street to Egmont Street.
- Ariki Street no entry to all vehicle traffic except buses from Gill/Currie streets.
- Egmont Street closed to all vehicle traffic from Ariki Street to the Richmond Centre vehicular entrance.
- Egmont Car Park closed to all vehicle traffic.
