Venture Taranaki is to host a lunchtime speaker series to help the region’s business leaders gain a better understanding of the Taranaki economy.

Specific events will focus on the past, the present and the potentially bright future of the Taranaki regional economy.

“Taranaki’s broader economic situation plays such an immensely important role in both the shape and the fortunes of every business that operates in our region,” says Venture Taranaki Chief Executive Stuart Trundle.

“As the agency charged with the strategic growth of that economy, we are constantly looking at opportunities to take a more active role in its development and how we ensure the region’s businesses are engaged and active in that work programme.”

“The series won’t be dull lectures on the finer points of macroeconomic theory - we’re aiming to keep them fast-paced, informative and interactive.”

Designed for the business community, professional sector and other interested parties, series events will be held at the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery. Events will begin at 12.00 noon for 12.15 start and finish at 1.00pm, with light lunch provided. The events are:

  • Taranaki – A Decade of Change, Friday 9 July 2010
  • Taranaki – Where are we now? Friday 13 August 2010
  • Taranaki’s Future: Where to from here? Friday 10 September 2010
