With the current influx of international visitors, Venture Taranaki’s Swap Sides campaign has shifted into top gear.
Swap Sides aims to inform and attract visitors to the region to consider moving to Taranaki to live and work, with a view to helping meet skill shortages – already evident in the energy or oil and gas, engineering and health sectors - in the short term, and more strategically help the region reach its population target of 135,000 by 2035.
The campaign has been successfully registering visitors at www.swapsides.co.nz which showcases Taranaki’s legendary lifestyle and career advantages, introduces a number of people who have made the move, and invites visitors to subscribe to regional news and highlights.
Two large billboards on New Plymouth’s Devon Street have been joined by signs when leaving the region, letting everyone knows what a fantastic region we live in.
If you’ve got friends or family using Rugby World Cup 2011 as an excuse to visit Taranaki, encourage them to register on the Swap Sides website - www.swapsides.co.nz. By signing up by the end of September they will go in the draw to win a luxury weekend for two to WOMAD 2012.
