Taranaki finished 2001 with an annual growth rate of 4.2% - the highest in 6 years - and ahead of the national average of 3.4%. Twelve months previously, our annual growth was much lower at 0.8%.

Taranaki In Govt Pilot Project For High Growth Companies

Taranaki is to be one of three regions chosen by the Government to pilot a new programme, aimed at high growth companies, called "Fast Forward". The programme will provide personalised assistance to companies to ensure they receive support from all relevant Government departments. In essence, all their Government needs will be "case managed."
