We stumbled upon the museum purely by chance and it has become an absolute favourite. It's a fantastic place to bring children to show them a unique array of wildlife. John is a walking encyclopaedia when it comes to his collection, telling you everything there is to know about each animal. We love the African animals, especially the massive white rhino and zebra!

It's also a fantastic place to get inspiration for your own garden, and there's a huge variety of gorgeous colours and textures. It's the perfect place to get lost in and lose track of time.

Egmont St Deli

Local secret #5:

Egmont St Deli

43 Egmont Street, New Plymouth

This corner cafe has become our local for Friday morning breakfast. While the scrambled eggs are pretty amazing, the latte art is worth discovering - we love seeing what the barista will come up with next. It's a cute and clever trick that can't help but start your day with a smile.
